using the round brush while drying - just drying and then touching up the ends with a curling iron with quick release.
Which is worse for your hair - blowdrying with a round brush or using a curling iron after blowdrying and not?
blowdry styling is hard on your hair because you're actually stretching your hair when you use a brush, especially if you're using a round brush, pulling it to get it to smooth out and style. Touching up ends with a curling iron is hard too, because of the intensity of the heat. If you have a professional iron then it can get super hot and you can do the job very quickly rather than leaving the iron on the hair for a long time, which damages it more. Just keep the ends trimmed to prevent splitting and frizz and you'd be okay, but try not to overdo it. I have friends that have to style their hair every day and sometimes more than once or twice a day. Too much if you ask me.

It is worse to blowdry and then curl your hair afterwards. Blowdrying with a round brush isn't going to cause as much heat damage as blowdrying and then curling. Using a round brush isn't going to damage your hair. Just the heat stuff will. :]

It is better to blowdry with a hairbrush because you are only using one type of heat instead of using two types of heat blowdryer AND curling iron. The more heat you put on your hair the worse it is, because heat makes your hair weak which causes your hair to break off or spit ends. And if you can curl your hair with a round brush while blowdrying it is better because you are using one heated item instead of two which would be the curling iron.
Also make sure that you use a thermal heat protectant before using any heated items. Chi makes a great thermal protectant and so does VO5 and others. The heat protectant is important so that your hair is protected against bad damages caused by the heat.

I blowdry my hair and style it at the same time with my hairdyer so therefore it is only one heat usage-- u dont want to use too much heat to over dry-- i find before i blowdry my hair i spray Aussies heat protector and leave in conditioner in one-- so it can protect my hair from the heat!! and I do not wash my hair everyday -- therefore no blowdrying every day either!
