What is the difference in the effect a comb has on the hair, as opposed to a brush...?

...and are these simple objects still the best things [for home use] to make the hair look good, apart from tongs and hairdryers.

What is the difference in the effect a comb has on the hair, as opposed to a brush...?

Combing the hair is much healthier than brushing, because brushing causes damage to the ends and if you do it like every day you WILL end up with split ends no matter what some people say

combs have further apart teeth so this is less likely of happening.

depending on the style that your aiming for, the usual guidelines are like

straight hair-brush

curly/wavy- comb

but if you have big, frizzy hair then brushing will only accentuate that.

COMBS FOREVER! =D

Combing gets out the tangles and a brush stimulates the hair follicles.....I think!!!! Always use a comb on wet hair, a brush stresses wet hair.

used on tangled hair a comb would brake more strands the an a brush would.

nice stright hair.. i would still have to say a brush.

I would only use a comb on short hair.

a brush will cause frizziness, damaged hair, and static. a comb is very gentle and very controllable.

COMBS

-should be used specifically for wet hair

-good fo curly hair because it combs through knots without making frizzies

-better for thinner hair

BRUSHES

-usually used on thicker hair (not on wet hair because it damages)

-distributes oil to the rest of your hair (good)

-stimulates hair growth (because it massages the scalp, and it's just good. lol)

-better on straight hair

both are good
