When I comb/brush/wash my hair, I get a couple strands that fall out. Anyway to prevent this??

I'm 16, not anorexic, normal weight. Any idea what's causing it,and how I can stop it?

Use olive oil! I know it sounds greasy and gross but it really works! i had the same problem, rub olive oil on the roots of your hair after showers while your hair is still moist.... hope it helps!!

I would probably guess it is your hormones or may be you have tender roots that are easily disturbed. If you are worried-go see a doctor.

As long as it is a couple of strands you're ok and that is perfectly normal. When it becomes clumps, its a problem and you need to see a dermatologist.

if your really worried, you can go see a doctor, but the average person looses from 70 to 80 strands of hair a day, so don't worry too much

Don't worry. it is normal for your hair to fall out because it shows new and healthy ones are comming in. it happens to everyone, including myself, especially in the shower. and you can't stop it. It's not like your hair is being ripped out or anything. it just happens naturally.

Hair normally sheds 50 strands a day so if it is a long stand of hair and not breakage it is okay especially if your are eating right (also take a mulit-vitamin), using good products, not applying extra stress to your hair (tight ponytails),and cleaning hair utensils (brushes and combs). Relax it is normal, I know I shed terribly.
