I just bought a new hair brush. It was a cheapy but that's how it is right now. It smells like rubber and the smell gets on my hair. How can I get rid of this terrible scent from the brush? I washed it with very hot water and shampoo but still, peeyew! I could just toss it and try another one but, I am trying to pinch pennies here! Any suggestions?

Soak it in rubbing alcohol for about 10 mins. Then rinse it off really good and let it air out. I also hate that rubbery smell. It makes your hair smell like it.

spray perfume on it. The alcohol may be drying for your hair but what the heck!
