Rubber brushes are fabulous for removing dead undercoat. I'd highly recommend a Zoom Groom, particularly the one made for cats - the "bristles" are longer and skinnier than the ones for dogs. Rubber brushes work well because the rubber really "grips" the hair that's come loose but hasn't fallen out yet, as well as massages and stimulates the skin without irritating it (as some slicker brushes with their metal bristles can do).
What is the best way to remove loose hair from my molting rabbit? (brush, etc.)?
Brush, for sure,
the way I do mine, is get his hair slightly wet with a damp towel, and just take my hands and slowly
run my fingers thru the coat, being damp, the clumps come off easily.

Just get a soft small animal brush and brush away. If your bun is trusting it'll let you pull out stray tufts. Mine are moulting like bu ggers at the moment.

If it's a long haired rabbit, a slicker brush is the best way to go.

I have a 5 short haired rabbits. I love my Zoom Groom. I also use the one for cats. The Zoom Groom is also good for removing bunny hair off of your furniture. here is a link to see what a Zoom Groom looks like http://www.kongcompany.com/worlds_best.h...
If you don't have a Zoom Groom available.....
I take a spray bottle filled with water and lightly mist the bunny. Then I run my hands through the fur. Your hands will be covered in fur. Then rub your hands together and the fur will ball up so you can dispose of it in the trash. Repeat until you have removed the dead hair. Most bunnies will love the massage. Especially if you keep one hand on bunnies favorite place to be pet.
Do not soak the bunny. The hair comes off easier when you just lightly mist the bunny. Sometimes you can just dampen your hands. When using a Zoom Groom I dampen it as well.
I find it best to put bunny on a sheet before I groom. That way I can clean the hair up easily by taking the sheet outside shake it and into the wash with it.
