My daughter is 13 and has blonde hair to her knees and hogs the bathroom for 45 minutes a day brushing it. Is there any way to make it quicker? I wanted to cut it but people tell me to try soemthing else. What should she do?

Put up a mirror in her bedroom that she can look into to brush her hair. Let her know that the excessive time is making it hard on the rest of the family and she will have to brush her hair in her room. Good luck!

I bet your daughter gets made fun of at school.
You need to tell her that it's damaged, there is no way that hair can be that long without being damaged, and get her to cut to at least about waist-length.
Honestly, it sucks for you and her because kids probably laugh at her.

maybe she should try to use a mousturizer or mousse to keep it stiff or slick
or gel

Buy her a full length mirror for her bedroom so she won't need to go to the bathroom to do her hair

Just cut it to middle back length...hair don't need to be almost as tall as you.

Lots of conditioner... maybe leave in conditioner to decrease snarrles! She'll be able to get the brush thru it better... a pick or wide tooth comb is much better for getting tangles out. A brush will damage her hair which causes more snarrles (broken ends)

Well you might be able to get her to cut it if she is the giving type.
There is a group called Locks of Love. Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children under age 18 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. We meet a unique need for children by using donated hair to create the highest quality hair prosthetics. Most of the children helped by Locks of Love have lost their hair due to a medical condition called alopecia areata, which has no known cause or cure. The prostheses we provide help to restore their self-esteem and their confidence, enabling them to face the world and their peers. http://www.locksoflove.org/
If she is the giving type, she might be interested in donating some of her length to help others.
If she isn't, then you might ask her to do her extended hair brushing outside or in her room. As long as her hair is that length, its going to take a fair amount of time to care for.
Gift her with a trip to the salon to have her hair washed and conditioned and ask the stylist if her long hair is damaged. Not all people with hair of that length have damaged hair, my sister grew her hair down to her ankles and kept it in great condition.
As for the suggestion that she gets laughed at and picked on for it, only by extremely stupid shallow little twits and the terminally jealous, both of which she is better off without.
