Contrary to popular belief some long haired dogs actually shed less then short haired. I have a golden retreiver that I brush daily and hardly have any hair in my house. They will shed more in the spring when they are losing their winter coat for their summer coat and then again in the fall when they lose their summer coat for their winter one.... but any dog is going to do this. Brushing is important though to avoid matts... pay special attention to the long hair under their tail and behind their back legs.

I have a friend that has one and yes, they shed a lot even with regular brushing.

Yup. My golden, Daisy, sheds quite a bit, but still keeps that beautiful silky coat. It's normal :)

Yes... we have one that is 9 yrs old, and just about every day he is brushed, and he still sheds daily. Especially 'this' time of year !!
